Direct Healthcare Group (DHG) has entered into an agreement to acquire the highly regarded Transflo Cushion brand from Karomed. This acquisition, that will complete at the end of February, will see DHG assume all manufacture and sales of the product as of the 1st March 2018.
The Transflo Cushion has been in the pressure care market for over 30 years, establishing itself as one of the UK’s leading high-risk gel cushions across acute and community care settings.
This latest acquisition continues to display Direct Healthcare Group’s sustained period of growth, following on from the acquisitions of Nightingale Professional Bariatric Care in 2016 and Kirton Healthcare in 2017. DHG’s growth as a leading British manufacturer, providing home grown employment opportunities, demonstrates its ongoing commitment to supporting UK manufacturing.
Commenting on the purchase of the Transflo Cushion brand, Graham Ewart, CEO of Direct Healthcare Group, said: “The acquisition of the Transflo Cushion range enables Direct Healthcare Group to offer Transflo customers an enhanced provision of service and product quality through our ISO 13485 accredited business management system. By increasing our product offering we ensure that we are providing innovative, market leading pressure care management that makes a real difference to our healthcare professionals and the patients they provide care for.
Direct Healthcare Group’s global network will allow the Transflo Cushion range to be offered across Europe and Asia-Pacific for the first time, providing a strongly regarded, high-risk preventative product worldwide.
This represents our continued intent to deliver pressure care solutions that provide value and benefit to our healthcare providers.”
Direct Healthcare Group will be in communication with Transflo Cushion customers to detail the necessary steps following the product acquisition.
